Introduction to the Transfer^

We have just received a press pack from Didier of L'Atelier kites France about the new Transfer.

The Transfer is a full size Freestyle/Ballet kite with a 240cm wingspan. The design process has taken in numerous prototypes and input from L'Atelier's pilots, many of whom are considered some of the most progressive fliers in the world.

The initial version is it seems to be part of a range of kites, perhaps much as the Lynx is available in a number of variations (Standard, Pilot, Feather and the 00).

Twin double stand-offs
shape the deep sail

Initial images suggest that the Transfer is a deep sailed kite with fairly straight leading edges and yo-yo stoppers. The kite features a flier designed adjustable bridle, covered leading edges, a flexible custom center T piece and a Skyshark Tapered frame. The Transfer has two sets of closely spaced stand offs and 15g of ballast.

The design looks different enough from previous L'Atelier kites such as the Masque, Lynx, Impact or Lithium. With a significantly cut in trailing edge the Transfer series may well offer something unique compared to other European full sized kites.

Pricing^

The retail price is €259 including Tax, which works out at about £175 or $315. This puts the Transfer in the same band as other full size freestyle kites. Watch this space for a full review.
