The Darkside3 does everything the Darkside2 does but crisper and stiffer and in lighter wind, due to its p100 frame.

With a bridle adjustment this kite will fly in next to nothing, and with care it can be tricked well beyond its theoretical wind range. It lies somewhere between a true ultralight and just a great lighter wind freestyle kite: Flying the Darkside 3 in zero wind requires energy and 50ft lines.

The Darkside's love of cascade moves remains in the series 3, fountains are also there for those who are confident. The kite is still stable on its back. Fades are easy to get, although the nose rests higher than on the 2, which had a heavier top spreader to lower spreader ratio. This makes backspins available but in need of more setup. A p300 top spreader is available as an option to adjust this.

Flic and Fade flacs are also there, 540's often require tending in light winds, but the Darkside whips round very nicely anywhere in the window. Slow helicopters are a beauty to watch and take gentle hand movements resulting in very little height lost for the amount of ground covered down wind. 360's all the way round are good - the Darkside likes to be worked, and a little running may be involved, but the kite seems to keep its momentum well for a non "glider" shaped light wind kite.

In stronger winds the Darkside 3 performs much like its less expensive brother, with good precision for a 7 foot kite.

Overall the Darkside 3 is a great kite for the serious flier.
