Allure 170 £60

The Didak Allure 170 is a small high wind trick kite. The kite has an up to date sail layout in soft ripstop, and is supplied with dyneema lines and straps. Once set up a good breeze is needed to get the Allure 170 into the air but one in flight the kite i fun to fly for a beginner. There is a degree of over steer as you would expect from a smaller high aspect ratio freestyler, but a 75ft line length helps compensated for that. Compared to some other high wind kites the standoffs are quite wide set.

Axles and double axles are easy, and half axles can be linked into cascades. Flick flacks can be fast, or slow, and here the tail fabric comes into play, a fade can be held for a considerable period of time. Flying in 20 mph of wind fades could be held and balanced and then popped into flatspins or further flick flacks.

The kite's smaller size makes groundwork trickier, although deadlaunches and coin tosses are there for the patient. Flap Flacks and lazy susans can also be coaxed out of the kite, although the allure 170 isn't really best balanced for this style of trick.

In conclusion the Allure 170 is a remarkable high wind trick kite. And definitely worth keeping in your bag for those gustier days
