The 1.83m kite is deep sailed, and finished with its own screen printed logo. This presentation runs through the whole kite package. it has a single stand-off, but this stand-off connects to a piece of stiff fibreglass which helps tension the trailing edge, and creates a taut channel.
This innovative arrangement is combined with a multi leg bridle, which is restricted with a "flux capacitor", to prevent line wraps in radical manoeuvres. In flight this kite is a backspin maniac, making a whole range of the traditionally more advanced tricks available to the average flier.
The experts have been recorded popping over 30 spins, and at Blackheath the sky was full of rotating area 51's. Since then the Backspin has become a mainstay of freestyle flying.
The "area 51" is not a one trick kite either, although perhaps lacking some of the full size panache of Bensons Gemini this little mould breaker should find itself in every fliers bag.
